The Physical Education Department was establshed in September 1991 with the main objective being to teach basic skills and rules of Sports to Students and organize Sports competions for both Students and Staff of Kenya Utalii College.This role has since expanded to include the teaching of Leisure and Recreation Management Course.
The department continues to encourage meaningful use of free time by organizing competitions such as the Annual Kenya Utalii College Sorts Festival, Inter-house competions held every term in different games and competions with other institutions which include participation in Hospitality and Tourism Sports.
The department is based at the Kenya Utalii College Sports ground. The ground has standard Sports facilities which include: Two Basketball courts, Two tennis Courts, an Athletics track, Hockey pitch,Two Volleyball courts three Netball courts and a handball court. The grounds are well maintained and are open for private hire when not in use by the college.
